Chris was born and raised in Dubuque County, Iowa, and is the oldest of 7 kids. Growing up, he was a generation removed from the farm, but still had a very heavy agricultural influence surrounding him and he sought to connect to his family’s farming roots. Chris chased every opportunity to help and learn from neighbors and extended family on their row crop and livestock operations.
These experiences led Chris to pursue agronomy and animal science degrees at Iowa State University. While at Iowa State, Chris was actively involved in several student organizations, most notably being voted president of the Beginning Farmers Network. Since graduating, Chris has worked as an agronomist near Plainfield, Iowa. He looks to promote farming practices that maximize productivity and sustain future generations of farmers.
Chris enjoys time with family and friends, time in the seat of a tractor, traveling, attending farm shows, tractor pulls, and concerts. You can also find him going on runs with his dog, rooting for his favorite sports teams [especially the Cyclones] and taking advantage of any chance to spend time outdoors. His integrity and willingness to listen and learn from the people he works with serves him well in creating long-term relationships between landowners and operators.
