Jake was raised on a small deer farm in Henry, IL along the Illinois River, between Peoria and Princeton. While attending Western Illinois University he received his Illinois Broker’s license and started learning the business immediately after graduating, with honors, from WIU. Since then, he’s actively served sellers and buyers in the central Illinois region from small parcels to large tracts of land. Jake has proven one of his strongest attributes is his extensive local knowledge of the real estate market. Jake is a proud landowner and understands the complexity and process of buying and selling land, in-depth.
In addition to Jake’s real estate career, he is a principal owner of Exodus Outdoor Gear and handles the marketing for the company. Exodus is a direct-to-consumer outdoor manufacturer, focusing on building industry leading reliable products, backed by world-class customer service, and warranty. Aside from building top-of-class cameras and tailored arrows, Exodus and Jake have recorded and produced podcasts and shows featuring some of the most interesting and experienced deer hunters across the nation; including Bill Winke, Jeff Sturgis, and Don Higgins to name a few.
Jake also hosts a podcast called The Land Podcast. A weekly show that covers all things land ownership, land investing, and commentary from industry experts and professionals. The goal of the project is to help 100 people buy their first piece of dirt. After 1 year, Jake has helped inform over 30 buyers in their first purchase through the platform. He takes great pride to bridge the gap of knowledge through guests and personal experiences.
In Jake’s free-time, he enjoys running trail cameras, improving his farms, and hiking with his wife Miranda and dog Scout.
